The Pedagogical Press of Galati: Past and Present

This articles shows the continuous preoccupation of the teachers from Galati and Covurlui County to edit and print their own publications which revealed the problems of the Romanian and regional school system over a span of 120 years. The articles published are about the curriculum of the school subjects, about pedagogy and methodology, about the development of practice-oriented education, love for one's country, respect for work, culture and art, the lives of certain educational, scientific and cultural figures, aspects regarding the economic situation of people working in the educational system, the commemoration and homage of previous teachers, and many other subjects. We emphasize the great number of publications in our city on these subjects and the meaningful titles that they had, such as "The Friend of Pedagogy," "Educational Opinions", "The Department", "School Clarifications", "The School of Galati" etc.
