How can the every-day realities faced by queer women of color living in the so-called US help us interpret Chicana daily life?Grounded in Chicana feminism and queer decolonial politic, this autohistoria explores the every-day realities faced by queer women of color living in US settler society and attempts to make meaning of Chicana daily life.Through research, narrative, and poetry, each chapter reflects the struggles, pleasures, and dreams of a fat, queer, displaced Chicana learning to practice freedom. Chicana demonstrates how power, domination, love, and the relationship to self shapes Chicanx and Latinx lives.Addressing topics such as the construction of Latinidad as an academic project, and radical self-love as decolonial praxis, this book is ideal reading for students of Queer Studies, Women and Gender Studies, Politics, Race and Ethnic Studies, Chicanx and Latinx Studies, and Sociology.
