Inshushinak

Inshushinak (“Lord of Susa”) was the tutelary god of the city of Susa and would become one of the principal deities of the Elamite pantheon. During the Old Elamite period, his main function was to protect Susa and its king. In the Middle Elamite period, he became, together with Napirisha, the principal divinity of the Elamite kingdom of Susa and Anshan. He also had authority in the domain of justice, an authority that extended to the netherworld where his task was to judge the newly arrived inhabitants. His main temples were in Susa and Chogha Zanbil.
