Gingivostomatitis Herpetika Primer Pada Anak Usia 3 Tahun 5 Bulan Dengan Karies Rampan: Laporan Kasus

Primary herpetic gingivostomatitis is the primary manifestation of Herpes simplex virus type 1 infection in young children, characterized by prodromal fever , desquamative gingivitis and painful multiple oral ulcerations. To analyze intra oral clinical manifestations that differentiate primary herpetic gingivostomatitis from other ulcerative lesions in children. A 3 years- 5 months old year girl presented with persistent fever for four days dan refusal to eat due to oral pain. Clinical examination revealed hyperemic mucosa, bleeding gingiva, multiple ulcer, pseudomembranous coating on the tongue. Severe early childhood caries was also observed. Supportive therapy including rehydration, analgesic, maintaining oral hygiene and multidisciplinary collaboration. Early recognition of Primary herpetic gingivostomatitis is essential to avoid unnecessary antibiotic use and prevent dehydration.
