AbstractCould a French-language “graphic novel” serve as a case study of sabk in Persianate literatures?1 Much depends on how broadly “sabk” and “Persianate literatures” are defined, but one could argue that these categories are capacious enough not to bar a work from being considered on the grounds of the language or genre alone.
