Essai de macropropagation des plantains (Musa AAB) in situ dans la biosphère de Yangambi en République Démocratique du Congo

The purpose of this study is to test the macropropagation of plantains in situ in Yangambi, DRC.The experimental design adopted is three completely randomized blocks with three replicates, each comprising three treatments: T1: Litete type (French type), T2: Ambulu (True Horn type), and T3: Mosantu (True Horn type). The bulbs produced an average of 21, 23, and 26 shoots, respectively, for the Ngbangele (Faux Corne), Mosantu (Vrai Corne), and Litete (French) cultivars, which means that macropropagation is possible in situ or in the open air. The most productive cultivar in terms of propagation during this study was the French-type Litete cultivar. Therefore, macropropagation can be carried out in situ or in the open air without the need for greenhouses, which are very expensive to build.
