SOLID PSEUDOPAPILLARY EPITHELIAL NEOPLASM OF PANCREAS- A CASE REPORT

View through CrossRef
A 17-year-old female presented with vague, progressive abdominal pain for two months, associated with nausea and vomiting. Imaging revealed an oval mass in the head of the pancreas. Surgical resection via Whipple's pancreatoduodenectomy was performed. Histopathological examination showed a solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) of the pancreas. Immunohistochemistry was positive for markers such as Cyclin D1, PR, CD10, CK, CD56, and Vimentin. Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) is a rare neoplasm, typically occurring in young females, with favourable prognosis when treated surgically. This report outlines the clinical presentation, diagnostic findings, and the importance of early surgical intervention.
