Folding fan of big dimensions with tortoiseshell rods formed by 16 smooth rods in the visible part and openwork in the part in which the country is mounted and 2 smooth guards, it is attached to the country in the English way. The pin and ring are made of the same material. From the ring hangs a cord attached to a tassel of the same color formed from different knots, the last of them partially lost. \The country is made of black lace and floral decoration with a central part of taffeta of the same colour that serves as a support for the monochrome painting (in different shades of white) that adorns it. It depicts a female figure in profile to the right, seated on a tree branch, stretching her right arm forward and reaching out her hand towards a bird perched on a smaller twig. The signature of its author is distinguishable. \The unlined lace pericon was in vogue in the last decades of the 19th century. For his black color, possibly used as complement of night or dance. \The union to the English between rodillaje and country consists of assembling the country of a single leaf with the rod seen by behind and sewed to the lace. Hence, although the part seen is smooth, the one that supports the rod presents openwork decoration.
