At forandre for at bevare – biopolitiske rekonfigurationer af den homoseksuelle

Gennem analyser af realityprogrammet Hva’ Bruden Ikke Ved og folketingsforhandlingerne om det kønsneutrale ægteskab undersøges rekonfigurationen af den homoseksuelle fra en figur, der associeres med døden til en figur, som indskrives i biopolitikken gennem familie, slægtskab og reproduktion. I forlængelse af David Engs genlæsning af John D’Emilio vises det, hvordan denne inkludering i biopolitikken lader sig gøre ved, at skrive det homoseksuelle par ind i et genkendelig heteronormativt slægtskab. Denne heteronormative rekonfiguration af den homoseksuelle figur muliggør et emancipations- og modernitetsnarrativ, der etablerer den homoseksuelle som en central markør på både temporal og geografisk modernitet. Hermed bliver den heteronormative inkludering af den homoseksuelle figur et bevis på den liberale fortælling om fremskridt og en konstituering af Danmark som særligt moderne. Der konkluderes, at den homoseksuelle i dag er en del af det normative biopolitiske mandat, der regulerer liv og død, ikke længere heteronomativitetens Anden, men dens partner in crime. ENGELSK ABSTRACT: Michael Nebeling Petersen: To Change in Order to Maintain – Biopolitical Reconfigurations of the Homosexual By analysing the Danish reality show Hva’ Bruden Ikke Ved (What the bride doesn’t know) and the parliamentary proceedings regarding same sex marriages, I examine the reconfiguration of the homosexual from a figuration associated with death to a figuration enrolled in bio-politics through family, kinship and reproduction. Following the line of thought in David Eng’s reading of John D’Emilio I show how this bio-political inclusion is made possible by letting the homosexual couple enter a recognizable heteronormative kinship. This heteronormative reconfiguration of the homosexual figuration makes a narrative of emancipation and modernity possible. This is a narrative that establishes the homosexual figuration as a central marker of both temporal and geographical modernity. Thus the heteronormative inclusion of the homosexual figuration becomes a proof of the liberal story of progress in Denmark. I conclude that the homosexual today is a part of the normative biopolitical mandate governing life and death, no longer heteronormativity’s Other but it’s partner in crime.
