Superdiversity and Multilingual Education

Abstract
This entry offers the reader an overview of the changes that have taken place in multilingual education and its policing during an era characterized by superdiversity. In so doing, it stresses the conceptual wealth that superdiversity holds for language and education studies in general and for multilingual education in particular. Last, it shows how superdiversity has managed to have multilingual education move away from a group‐based understanding of multilingualism toward a more holistic understanding of sociolinguistic repertoires and language users' biographies and consequent translingual practices.
