Pregnancy Complicated by Hereditary Spherocytosis
View through CrossRef
Heriditary spherocytosis is an autosomal dominant congenital haemolytic anaemia due to abnormalities in cytoskeleton of red blood cell membrane. The management of pregnancy in a patient with hereditary spherocytosis is challenging as there are several issues involved in it. Recently we came across a woman with hereditary spherocytosis presenting with pregnancy at sixth week of gestation. We discuss in this brief communication various issues in the management of pregnancy in hereditary spherocytosis and present a protocol for the management
