WAYS TO IMPROVE ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN URBAN LIGHTING
View through CrossRef
In this article, an analysis of street lighting networks was carried out. Important aspects in this analysis are reducing energy consumption costs, improving road safety and reducing negative environmental impacts. The use of LED technologies and smart solutions, such as sensor-based lighting control systems, can significantly improve the efficiency of street lighting systems. Such an analysis can help any locality to choose the best solutions to improve the quality of street lighting.
Modern large outdoor lighting networks are street lighting systems that are centrally controlled and allow you to illuminate large areas, for example, city centers, industrial zones, airports, etc. These systems usually consist of a variety of LED lights mounted on lampposts or on special supports. Moreover, an automated control and dispatching system for outdoor lighting can significantly improve the efficiency of such systems. This system allows you not only to control lighting, but also to control its operation, monitor energy consumption costs and take measures to reduce these costs. In this paper, the modernization of street lighting with the use of LED lamps is analyzed, which is considered relevant nowadays. Lighting quality and high performance are improved thanks to an automated control and dispatching system for outdoor lighting. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the use of LED technologies and smart solutions, such as sensor-based lighting control systems, can significantly improve the efficiency of street lighting systems.
