Shape/color: It should mimic the “body part” Corpus Amygdaloideum (part of the brain)
Technique/method: Lampworking
Other. Thoughts around the object: “A study of the relation human versus machine”
Amygdala (corpus amygdaloideum) Almond shaped accumulation of gray matter in the front of the throat of the brain. Amygdala forms part of the limbic system. The Limbic system, (from the limbus of the Latin, edge), is a complex of neurons on the inside of both hemispheres of the brain with a substructure in each thawing lobe. The limbic system comprises, inter alia: of amygdala, gyrus cinguli and hippocampus. The limbic system is called the brain of emotions, and belongs to the central nervous system. It is because of this that one becomes irrational in infatuations (this picture is too much endorphin excreted). The Limbian system also affects the autonomic nervous system by making the individual stressed via the sympathetic system. Sexuality is also controlled from here. In memory and learning, this system has a very important role, since the whole behavior is fundamentally based on stimulating those that give feelings of well-being and avoid those that give feelings of discomfort.
The sense of smell is directly linked to the limbic system, unlike other sensory organs that reconnect in the thalamus before reaching the superbrain.
