VETERINARY AND SANITARY EXPERTISE OF LAYING QUAIL EGGS WHEN BLACK SOLDIER FLY LARVAE ARE USED IN THEIR FEEDING

View through CrossRef
The article presents the results of a study of quail eggs that had been fed various forms of black soldier fly larvae supplements for a long time. Three groups of laying quails were created, each containing 21 birds, aged 120 days, when egg production reached its peak. Quails in the first control group received only basic diet. The layers of the second and third experimental groups were given black soldier fly larvae in addition to the basic diet - in dried and native form, in the amount of 3 and 7% of the dry matter of feed. When studying the quail eggs that received the dried form of supplement, an increase in the fat content of the protein mass by 4% (p<0.05) and an increase in the caloric value of the egg by 1.4% (p<0.05) were found, and an increase in the ash content by 11.1% (p<0.05). In the yolk mass of the quail eggs that consumed the native form of black soldier fly larvae in the diet, the moisture content in the yolk mass of the quail eggs significantly decreased by 4.1% (p<0.05), the fat content increased by 2.6% (p<0.05) and, accordingly, the caloric value of the egg increased by - 1.8% (3.0 kcal) (p<0.05). In the mineral composition of the eggshell of quails fed with insect culture, the calcium content increased significantly by 29.7 and 45.6% (p<0.05), iron - by 26.7 and 34.7% (p<0.05) and copper - by 44.4 and 46.9% (p<0.05), in the protein-yolk mass the zinc content increased by 0.9 and 1.9 times (p<0.05), compared to the control values. The content of cadmium and nickel in quail eggs was significantly lower than the permissible amounts for dietary eggs. Thus, the use of black soldier fly larvae in feeding laying quails helps to improve the quality of eggs in terms of nutritional and biological value, mineral composition and ensures their compliance with biological safety indicators.
Title: VETERINARY AND SANITARY EXPERTISE OF LAYING QUAIL EGGS WHEN BLACK SOLDIER FLY LARVAE ARE USED IN THEIR FEEDING
Description:
The article presents the results of a study of quail eggs that had been fed various forms of black soldier fly larvae supplements for a long time.
Three groups of laying quails were created, each containing 21 birds, aged 120 days, when egg production reached its peak.
Quails in the first control group received only basic diet.
The layers of the second and third experimental groups were given black soldier fly larvae in addition to the basic diet - in dried and native form, in the amount of 3 and 7% of the dry matter of feed.
When studying the quail eggs that received the dried form of supplement, an increase in the fat content of the protein mass by 4% (p<0.
05) and an increase in the caloric value of the egg by 1.
4% (p<0.
05) were found, and an increase in the ash content by 11.
1% (p<0.
05).
In the yolk mass of the quail eggs that consumed the native form of black soldier fly larvae in the diet, the moisture content in the yolk mass of the quail eggs significantly decreased by 4.
1% (p<0.
05), the fat content increased by 2.
6% (p<0.
05) and, accordingly, the caloric value of the egg increased by - 1.
8% (3.
0 kcal) (p<0.
05).
In the mineral composition of the eggshell of quails fed with insect culture, the calcium content increased significantly by 29.
7 and 45.
6% (p<0.
05), iron - by 26.
7 and 34.
7% (p<0.
05) and copper - by 44.
4 and 46.
9% (p<0.
05), in the protein-yolk mass the zinc content increased by 0.
9 and 1.
9 times (p<0.
05), compared to the control values.
