Literal Translation Method for Japanese Language Education Students

This study aims to identify the types of translation methods used by students in Japanese news texts News Web Easy. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collected used the listening method and note-taking techniques. The theory used is the translation method theory according to Newmark (1988). Respondents in this research were taken from Japanese Language Education students at Riau University. The results of this research show that 48 data were found in sentences translated by students using the literal method
