Tribotechnical characteristics of innovative high-entropy wear-resistant coatings for cutting tools
View through CrossRef
The paper presents the results of experimental studies of the tribotechnical characteristics of innovative nanostructured wear-resistant coatings developed in an argon environment from high-entropy cathodes-targets for metal-cutting tools. The tests were carried out according to a comprehensive assessment program of the normal stress state of the cutting edge, the strength of the tangential component of adhesive bonds, and the adhesive friction coefficient over a wide range of temperature changes in the contact surfaces on an improved high-temperature adhesive installation, as well as a series of wear resistance, temperature-force experimental tests of tungsten-cobalt carbide metal-cutting tools with the above-mentioned wear-resistant coatings during high-speed longitudinal turning of heat-resistant and heat-resistant EP33 steels, EP654 on a DMG MORI CTX Beta 1250 TC turning and milling machining center with a set of equipment for measuring temperature and force parameters. The results of the research confirm the high efficiency of innovative high-entropy wear-resistant coatings in terms of both tribotechnical characteristics and functional operational properties during high-speed turning of heat-resistant and heat-resistant chromium-nickel steels.
