The Impact of Immigration on the Urbanization

View through CrossRef
This book is based on a thesis titled \"The Impact of Migration on Urbanization\" written by Emrah Atar. The book focuses on the ongoing Syrian refugee crisis since 2011. The Syrian civil war and terrorism have caused millions of people to leave their countries and migrate to other countries. Many Syrian refugees prefer to settle in Turkey. This study aims to determine the effects of Syrian refugees on the urbanization process in Turkey. The study provides general information about the concept of urbanization and related concepts. Additionally, topics such as why Syrian refugees migrate to Turkey, why they choose Turkey, debates about the legal status of refugees in Turkey, the effects of refugees on Turkey, and the challenges faced by refugees in Turkey are discussed. The book also discusses whether Turkey's border cities are suitable for refugees and emphasizes which cities are suitable for Syrian refugees. Lastly, the book examines Turkey's relations with the United Nations, the European Union, or other countries regarding the burden-sharing of the refugee crisis. I am very happy to have completed this study during my graduation education.
