2d/Lt Frank Vande from 750th Squadron 457th Bomb group 8th Air force. He was a navigator on B-17 #42-107015. Need-landed in Sweden on 21 June 1944 after a mission to Berlin due to mechanical problems with the bomber.
The 457th Bomb group was the same dressing as one of the distressed flying fortresses in Jönköping belonged to.
