Os lados do círculo em "Os três nomes de Godofredo", de Murilo Rubião

This article aims to analyze the geometric figure of the circle on Murilo Rubião’s short story “Os três nomes de Godofredo”. Therefore, we dialogue with different areas of knowledge (Mathematics, Plastical Arts, Physics, Psychology and others) and share the paper in four topics: 1) Walking in circles: the labyrinth space cycle of the action and time (includes the repeated character actions and their circular displacements also the time that approaches the mythical where past, present and future are a single time; 2) The retable’s circumference (the rescue of the idea "all at once and now”, all the events at the same plan); 3) The written circle, delineated (analysis of the mentions to the circular figures and to everything that refers to them); 4) Series circuits: the text and epigraph relationship (covers the reciprocal influence between the epigraphs and the narrative addressed, in an infinite circular game). Thus, the studies of Robert Cumming (1996), Gotthold Ephraim Lessing (1998), Carl Gustav Jung (2008) and Jorge Schwartz (1981) were useful to us. About the findings, we note the de circle works as guiding element of the novel analyzed, as Rubião takes advantage of the circle to deform it, opening up cracks for the insertion of the reader in his text.
