ANALYSIS OF INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION PATTERNS IN K-DRAMA HOMETOWN CHA-CHA-CHA

Interpersonal communication is the most basic thing. Thanks to good interpersonal communication, making the relationship that exists will be good. In the k-drama “Hometown cha-cha-cha”, there are several scenes that depict interpersonal communication between players. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha itself is a TV series adapted from the 2004 film "Mr. Hong". Although they still use the same character names, the plot of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is different from the original film. The drama, directed by Yoo Je-won, will be released in August 2021. The purpose of this study is to understand the interpersonal communication patterns in the k-drama “Hometown cha-cha-cha” and explore the importance of empathizing with others. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative and semiotic data analysis model by Roland Barthes. From the results of the study, it was found that the communication between the "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha" players was dyadic communication (communication between two people) which was carried out both primary and secondary. However, we can also find forms of triadic communication (communication of three people).
