The review presents the monograph by Maria Mitskova, which traces the emergence and development of philological knowledge of Bulgarian dialects during the Bulgarian Renaissance. The role of the work in the study of the contribution of the writers of the Bulgarian Renaissance to the development of Bulgarian dialectology, to the description of Bulgarian dialects, to the emphasis on the indivisibility and integrity of the Bulgarian language within its territorial borders is emphasized.
