ANALYZING THE ROLE OF HORMONAL THERAPY IN MODERN GYNECOLOGY: BALANCING TREATMENT AND RISK

View through CrossRef
Background: Hormonal therapy functions as a fundamental treatment strategy for various gynecological conditions that affect menopause and endometriosis and produce uterine fibroids. Medical professionals continue to debate the therapeutic advantage versus potential risks which hormonal therapy offers to patients throughout extensive clinical use. Modern gynecological practice needs to assess both the success rates and protective aspects of hormonal therapy in order to deliver superior patient care with minimized harmful consequences. Aim: The research investigated hormonal therapy in gynecological practice by assessing therapeutic effects and treatment risks to determine practice feasibility. Methods: This research took place during October 2023 until September 2024 at Bilawal Medical College at LUMHS Jamshoro. A research sample included 100 females using hormonal medications for gynecological purposes. Data acquisition about treatment success and adverse effects and patient contentment was conducted using clinical examinations along with laboratory evaluations and face-to-face questionnaires with patients. Statistical examination was used to evaluate how hormonal therapy affected disease control and adverse side effect occurrence. Results: The research showed that hormone-based treatment successfully decreased symptoms among menopausal patients and endometriosis patients particularly for pain reduction and hot flashes and vaginal dryness relief. Specific side effects included weight gain together with mood changes while also increasing the danger of thromboembolic events among a minority of patients. The overall therapeutic benefits of hormonal medications exceeded their disadvantages for most patients when doctors handled treatment appropriately based on patient-specific needs. Conclusion: The medical practice of gynecology uses hormonal therapy as one of its primary effective treatment methods. The treatment method provides important symptom relief for gynecological conditions yet doctors should thoroughly evaluate the potential risks. The combination of personalized treatment strategies with consistent patient assessment allows health providers to enhance treatment results and lower side effect risk
