Poem 96: The lay priest and former prime minister

Hiroshigega 様 HiHiShared series of Kuniyoshi, Hiroshige and Kunisada about the famous collection of poems “Hyakunin isshu Hi様 Hi” (Hundred Poets with a Hundred Poems). In the upper field, the 96th poem of the collection, written by Sai 'onji Kintsune Im Im 様様 Im Im Im (1171-1244), who held the position of first minister and then entered a temple. In Hyakunin isshu under: Nyūdō Saki no Daijōdaijin 様様 In 様大 In The picture shows the Kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjūrō VIII Das Das Das Das Das Das Das Das (1823-1854) in the role of Fuwa Banzaemon. Fuwa Banzaemon and his rival Nagoya Sanzaburō compete for the love of courtesan Katsuragi. The picture here shows Banzaemon probably in the Freudenviertel. Behind him a blossoming cherry tree in a fencing with lampions, as found in Yoshiwara in the middle of Hauptstraße. He wears a big straw hat. His kimono is decorated with flashes and clouds, typical of the role.
