On the left Fredrik III, breast image, phase right. Long brown hair. Lace collar with tassels.
On the right Sofia Amalia, breast image, phase left. Long light hair, pearl horse, gold and pearl embroidered dress with a large downlying lace collar. Dark background.
Simple black, profiled ornamental frame, width 105 mm. The canvas nailed directly to the ornamental frame. On the back Wrangellapp “No 265 hning Fridrick mit das dessu gemahlin 6Rd” (1676, No 265, lot 1: 165). On the back of the left frame list written “30” (?) with red pen.
Double of Frederik III of Denmark and his Double Sofia Amalia of Braunschweig-Lyneburg, Double shortly after their 1643, Double before his succession to the Double in 1648.
The roofs were the roofs as war booty by Carl Gustaf Wrangel during the war against Denmark 1657 - 1658.
The unsigned double was most executed by one of the painters close to the court of Christian IV.
