Micropulse glaucoma surgery in the combined treatment of neovascular glaucoma
View through CrossRef
Purpose. To evaluate the effectiveness of micropulse laser glaucoma surgery in the combined treatment of patients with secondary neovascular glaucoma. Material and methods. The study included 24 patients (24 eyes) with secondary neovascular glaucoma. All patients underwent micropulse transcleral laser treatment. Results. A week after treatment, the IOP level was 23.1±10.2 mm Hg on the hypotensive drops. A decrease in IOP was achieved by an average of 34% from the preoperative one, and then a gradual decrease in the hypotensive effect was observed with a decrease in IOP by an average of 21-22% from the initial one 1 year after the operation. In 5 cases, in patients with terminal glaucoma, normalization of IOP was not achieved, but in all cases, relief of pain was noted. Conclusion. Micropulse laser glaucoma surgery can be used in the complex treatment of neovascular glaucoma in order to reduce IOP. Key words: secondary neovascular glaucoma, micropulse laser glaucoma surgery, proliferative diabetic retinopathy, CVS thrombosis, anti VEGF.
