In the Fall of 2023 Eric Jennings communicated with Gwyn Campbell, director of the Indian Ocean World Centre, McGill University, general editor of the Palgrave Series in Indian Ocean World Studies, and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Indian Ocean World Studies. Communicating by email, the two discussed Gwyn Campbell's latest book, The Madagascar Youths: British Alliances and Military Expansion in the Indian Ocean Region (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2022).
