Abstract5‐Brom‐ und 5‐Nitro‐isatin kondensieren mit substituierten Anilinen zu Isatin‐3‐(phenyl)‐iminen. 5‐Brom‐isatin‐3‐(phenyl und naphthyl)‐imin werden auch durch Bromieren von Isatin‐3‐(phenyl und naphthyl)‐imin erhalten. Bei Einsatz von o‐Phenylendiamin erfolgt Ringschluß zu 5‐Brom‐bzw. 5‐Nitro‐6,11‐diaza‐5H‐benzo[b]carbazol, wobei als Zwischenprodukt wahrscheinlich die entsprechenden Isatin‐3‐(o‐amino‐phenyl)‐imine auftreten.
