Almost a full figure, sitting on a chair and turning half to the left, the head in half profile to the left, the right arm of a rounded table top, the hand hanging, the left hand in the knee, holding a book (M. A. Blanchard: “Le Livre des Enfant, Anecdotes Morales,” Paris 1854, see gr LXIII, Library) and with his thumb inched between the leaves. The gaze to the spectator; dark hair with middle leg, smooth down combed to the sides and in the garnish, at the robe; wide dark shoulder collar with a frowned edge strip and attached to an oval dark brooch; devious embroidered white neck collar with run-duded edge; white undersleeves with winding and wrinkled wide strip. The chair with contoured back and carved top. On the table top a balusterform vase with flowers. The portrait against standing oval dark background. The light from the right. On paper. Frame (original): Of wood, gilded in matt and shiny. Glass. Back of pine, with broadly bevelled edges.
