The textbook presents basic theoretical principles, techniques and methods that are in demand in the practice of empirical analysis of socio-economic situations and forecasting trends in their development. Specific examples are given that reveal the research capabilities of basic-level econometrics and the directions of using the new Wolfram|Alpha tool in applied research based on econometric modeling. Considerable attention is paid to the mathematical apparatus, the peculiarities of socio-economic situations, meaningful interpretations and the possibilities of applying new results obtained through econometric methods and models in decision-making practice.
