Formation of the professional and personal reputation of future musician-pianists: a structural and functional analysis
View through CrossRef
The article presents a structural and functional analysis of the formation of the professional and personal reputation of future musician-pianists in the context of contemporary transformations of the artistic environment, driven by the globalization of creative communications, the increasing competitiveness of the music market, the spread of digital platforms, and the expansion of visual representation of artistic products. It is proven that a pianist’s professional and personal reputation is not reducible to a set of achievements or popularity, but is an integral system of professional, communicative, intellectual, moral-value, and personal characteristics that determine the level of trust, prestige, legitimacy, and sociocultural recognizability of the performer. Based on a systemic approach, reputation is interpreted as a dynamic, multilevel construct shaped by the interaction of sociocultural conditions, pedagogical support, the musician’s subjective traits, and the specifics of their concert-performing activity. Within the study, key components of the professional and personal reputation of future pianists are identified and conceptually substantiated: professional competence, which integrates specialized knowledge, technical skills, interpretive flexibility, artistic-aesthetic erudition, and reflexivity; personal development, which ensures psychological resilience, emotional regulation, motivational maturity, and creativity; artistic imagination and musical thinking, which determine the depth of interpretations, the uniqueness of creative style, and the performer’s cultural legitimacy; stage communication and interaction with the audience as a factor of emotional impact, stage presence, communicative intentionality, and the formation of aesthetic impression; resilience to professional challenges, which ensures the ability to withstand stressors, adapt to changing conditions, maintain high performance quality, and transform difficulties into resources for professional growth. It is demonstrated that the structural and functional approach allows the phenomenon under study to be viewed as a holistic system with hierarchical organization, interdependent components, and a set of functions aimed at ensuring the pianist’s creative subjectivity, professional stability, sociocultural recognizability, and interpretive uniqueness. It is emphasized that the formation of the professional and personal reputation of future musician-pianists requires a systematically organized educational process, a creative environment, and psychologically comfortable and reflectively rich conditions for personal development.
