During November 2008, a salvage excavation was conducted on Victor Hugo Street in Yafo (Permit No. A-5537; map ref. 177313-33/661811-77; Fig. 1), in the wake of discovering antiquities during an archaeological inspection of renovations and infrastructure replacement. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and underwritten by the Mishlama Le-Yafo, was directed by A. Dagot, with the assistance of E. Bachar (administration), A. Hajian (surveying), T. Sagiv (field photography), J. Marcus and E. Jakoel (archaeological inspection) and M. Shuiskaya (pottery drawing).
