Venedig, IV. Platea S. Pauli Privatis Aedibus ornata.

It shows the Campo San Paolo, the largest square in Venice, located in the center of the city near the Grand Canal. A view from the south end of the square to the north on the double palazzo Soranzo, from which 14, respectively 15th century. The square is lined with other buildings. In the middle is a well that was created in 1493. The name for the square is the Chiesa di San Paolo, which, however, is in the viewer’s back and limits the space in the south. The Campo was a popular venue for celebrations, ceremonies, markets and masked balls. The square was known among others by the murder of Lorenzino de 'Medici and Alessandro Soderini in 1548.
