The monograph is the third volume, which contains over twenty articles dealing with a number of topics related to the main research problem – City and War. Authors from over a dozen Polish and foreign research centers, based on sources of various provenance, undertook many detailed thematic threads. Their chronological extent from the early Middle Ages to the present day allows readers interested in various historical epochs to refer to the monographs. However, texts concerning the 20th century, and especially World War II, are dominant, so the editors of the monograph hope that it will become an inspiration for further searches and analyzes, for innovative attempts to read old sources and search for new materials. It is also to be hoped that the publication will provide P.T. Readers of valuable and inspiring reading.
