In 1944 Erik Fahlbeck (1893-1975) was appointed professor at Lund University. This meant that he and the family moved to Lund. For Erik, this meant a return to the city of birth. He had left Lund in 1905 as a twelve-year-old when the parents moved to Djursholm. See more in dkoment in the 924 Task Book. Reinhold Fahlbeck’s father was Erik Fahlbeck and his grandfather was Pontus Fahlbeck. The family had a tradition of ordering portraits of family members. Johan johansson was a relative and acquaintance of the family. The gift includes image/plaque of grandfather, portrait of the father and boy portraits of the donor, as well as two laurel wreaths. All pictures and objects have hung on the walls of the donor’s apartment on Karl XI street Lund. The portrait depicts the donor’s father. Erik Fahlbeck was a philosopher at Uppsala University in 1925, associate professor of state science at Stockholm University in 1929. He was a professor of administrative law and state law at Lund University 1944-59. Fahlbeck became a lawyer’s honorary doctor in Lund in 1947 and was elected to the Humanistic Science Society in Lund in 1947. The painting has been exhibited at Nationalmuseum. On this occasion, a portrait of King Gustav VI Adolf painted by Johan Johansson was also shown, which was similarly executed. Documents: to this one belongs a quintet of two thousand five hundred crowns quashed by Johan Johansson 15/6 1948. (Data Book 924).
