Barrels, Two Pieces

Two oblong, almost oval, barrels with contoured edge. On the inside the bottom flower paintings as well as around the board a gold stripe. On the edge four cartusques with a gilded frame in rococo, in between relief ornaments in the form of flower loops. The cartuschs have on the one hand bird pictures, on the other hand flowers in colours and gold on the glaze. The factory was founded in 1710 by King August II of Poland, Kurfurste of Saxony. Johann Friedrich Böttger, who invented the feldspatauthentic European porcelain in 1709, was the technical leader of the factory from its founding until his death in 1719. Price: 50 Mk.
