The story of a friendship: Sergey Pavlovich Diaghilev through the eyes of Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky

View through CrossRef
The object of the study is the friendship between the impresario Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev and the composer Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky. It is considered through the prism of memories of Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky and biographical episodes of Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev. The analysis of the sources reveals the complexity of the relationship between the creative composers. For more than twenty years they were quite uneven and sometimes conflictual. If at the beginning of joint activities Diaghilev took a leading position in the relationship, then later the situation changed. This fact led to conflict and alienation between them. Nevertheless, Igor Fyodorovich understood the greatness of Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev in the history of culture and his own life.
