Sjul Halvarsson “LongSjul” born in Sjuls, Älvros 1831, died 1918. Married in 1856 to Sigrid Olsdotter born in 1827 from Utterberg, had 6 children: Lisa born in 1858, Halfvar born in 1859, Olof born in 1862, Karin born in 1864, Jonas born in 1868 and Sigrid born in 1870. Sjul built houses and cultivated soil at Källmyra. Dit moved the family in 1880 but had to leave because of an unpaid debt. Sjul also lived with the Brother in Haverö in Medelpad. Last years before he died, he lived with his son Olov in the Källbergs estate. Sjul had several chores, a player, a dryer, a trap tailor and a sower at the frame saw in Märång. He was known as the best violin player in the tract and made his own songs mostly poles, several of the songs are often played on game man tunes, also on radio among others “Brudmarsch from Älvros.” In the picture, Sjul is in the process of sewing a sheepskin.
