The drawing shows Dr Edith Summerskill addressing a crowd of voters in a Fulham street before the General Election of 1951. There is a crowd of children behind her an a row of adults at right watching. An older woman with a cigarette hanging from her mouth dominates the foreground, a baby in a pram to lower left. The picture was reproduced and published in the News Chronicle Wednesday 24 October 1951 to accompany an article by Kaye Webb "T.V. Will Tell Dr. Edith's Fortune". This article is cut out and mounted below the original drawing.
