Cmentarzysko w wczesnej epoki żelaza w Świbiu na Górnym Śląsku. Tom 1 – Katalog

For years, the Hallstatt period necropolis at Świbie, north of Gliwice (S Poland), has been mentioned on a par with such Early Iron Age sites as Kietrz, Domasław, Wicina and Biskupin. This eminent sepulchral site was surveyed in its entirety between 1961 and 1992, thanks to the commitment of Gliwice archaeologists Anna Stankiewicz-Węgrzykowa and Halina Wojciechowska. On the 30th anniversary of the completion of the field research, the researchers’ home institution, the Museum in Gliwice, together with the Profil-Archeo Publishing House, published a two-volume monograph devoted to the site. The first volume is a catalogue of 548 graves and archaeological finds, with more than 350 plates with drawings of the grave plans and artefacts.
