UTILIZATION OF MARINE BIOTA REALIA MEDIA IN DEVELOPING CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING SKILLS THROUGH THE PROJECT BASED LEARNING MODEL ON SOCIAL STUDIES LEARNING AT STATE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL 10 CIREBON CITY

Marine biota is a diverse group of organisms and is very important for marine ecosystems such as the availability of food, oxygen and habitat for most other organisms and is very rarely used as realia media in social studies learning. The social studies material at the Indonesian Maritime Section Secondary School 10, class VII, Cirebon City. Utilizes shrimp marine biota realia media as an effort to encourage students to more easily learn how shrimp, as a local product, Cirebon plays a big role in Maritime Affairs. Cirebon is part of the Archipelago Maritime Affairs. Shrimp marine biota media is used in social studies learning in Class VII. This research aims to prioritize the preservation of shrimp marine biota to develop Critical and Creative Thinking skills and increase students' motivation and interest in participating in learning. Therefore, the theory used is Constructivism Theory to build knowledge based on experience and understanding regarding marine biota and the environment through Project Based Learning (PJBL) which focuses on projects, problems as triggers, student autonomy, investigation-based and has a final product. This research uses qualitative methods through a case study approach on with the specification that the majority are children of fishermen. Through the Project Based Learning model as a result of the implementation of the Independent School, it is oriented towards student involvement, resulting in dynamic and sustainable social studies learning and successfully designing an awareness campaign for marine environmental conservation where the use of shrimp marine biota realia media is an effective way to improve the quality of learning and achieve learning objectives, which are desired.
