GENETIC DIVERSITY OF PIG BREDS RAISED ON AN INDUSTRIAL BASIS IN THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN

View through CrossRef
A comparative analysis of the genetic diversity of Duroc, Yorkshire and Landrace pig breeds raised on an industrial basis at Bashkir Meat Company LLC is given in the article. To perform the work, polymorphic microsatellite loci SO155, SO386, SW24, SW72, SW951 and SO355 were used. These genetic markers were approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission for confirming the authenticity of the breeding products origin. Landrace was found to be the most genetically polymorphic breed (the average number of alleles per locus A = 2.5 ± 0.3). The allelic diversity in Duroc and Landrace breeds was lower (A = 2,2 ± 0.3). According to the level of genetic variation, the Landrace – Duroc – Yorkshire line was formed (observed heterozygosity Но = 0.317, No = 0.467 and No = 0.483, expected heterozygosity Не = 0.277, Не = 0.361 and Не = 0.453, respectively). The values of the inbreeding coefficient of loci were negative in most cases (83.3 %) with the average values of the parameter Fis = –0.265 ± 0.061 (Duroc), Fis = –0.112 ± 0.088 (Landrace) and Fis = 0.075 ± 0.050 (Yorkshire). The revealed levels of genetic diversity were significantly lower than the values previously found by other researchers for the same breeds and loci. It was concluded that this phenomenon is based on the breeding carried out in the enterprise
Title: GENETIC DIVERSITY OF PIG BREDS RAISED ON AN INDUSTRIAL BASIS IN THE REPUBLIC OF BASHKORTOSTAN
Description:
A comparative analysis of the genetic diversity of Duroc, Yorkshire and Landrace pig breeds raised on an industrial basis at Bashkir Meat Company LLC is given in the article.
To perform the work, polymorphic microsatellite loci SO155, SO386, SW24, SW72, SW951 and SO355 were used.
These genetic markers were approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission for confirming the authenticity of the breeding products origin.
Landrace was found to be the most genetically polymorphic breed (the average number of alleles per locus A = 2.
5 ± 0.
3).
The allelic diversity in Duroc and Landrace breeds was lower (A = 2,2 ± 0.
3).
According to the level of genetic variation, the Landrace – Duroc – Yorkshire line was formed (observed heterozygosity Но = 0.
317, No = 0.
467 and No = 0.
483, expected heterozygosity Не = 0.
277, Не = 0.
361 and Не = 0.
453, respectively).
The values of the inbreeding coefficient of loci were negative in most cases (83.
3 %) with the average values of the parameter Fis = –0.
265 ± 0.
061 (Duroc), Fis = –0.
112 ± 0.
088 (Landrace) and Fis = 0.
075 ± 0.
050 (Yorkshire).
The revealed levels of genetic diversity were significantly lower than the values previously found by other researchers for the same breeds and loci.
It was concluded that this phenomenon is based on the breeding carried out in the enterprise.
