A Discovery on Sunset Boulevard by Prof. Dr. Bernd Stiegler

It all began a quarter of a century ago: “In 1996, Stefanie Schneider purchased three boxes of old Polaroid film on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Since then, her works have been recognizable not only by the square format so typical of Polaroids, but also by an almost surreal coloration. What a finished ‘Schneider work’ will ultimately look like remains uncertain until the very end, because the outdated chemical substances behave in a completely unpredictable manner during development.
