Made: Northern Europe, 1800s.
Folk costume jewellery, silver, partly gilded. Has probably been intended to hang at the end of a belt, with the belt fabric visible in breakthroughs. The lower edge with originally five loops for the pendant. The back with secondary engraving of large Brahvapnet under Greek crown and text “IAGH GIFTER MIJTH LIFE OC BLODH FFOR MIIN KUUNGE OC HERRE YTIJ MUST TY WÅR GÖSTAFF WARE NEHR HELLER FIERRE.” The engraving has probably been intended to be perceived as 1500s, “Göstaff” is likely to play on Gustav Vasa. Unstamped.
Punched decor. Oblong rectangular openings covered with broken, gilded huts. At the hem four hooks. In the middle three cast seraphim of silver
On the back engraved the Greek Brahevapnet under a noble crown (secondary?). In the heart shield between the wings vase during the hairdresser.
Inscription around the weapon: “Jagh giffer mijth liff oc bloodh ffor miin KUUNGE oc HERRE ytij mååd Tu wårn Göstaff ware nehr also fierre.”
