EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SITUATION ON LAMBLIASIS IN ISFARA

The data of the Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance for Isfara
were analyzed for 2016-2020. The data were analyzed for 1860 patients of different
ages divided into four groups. The first group included children aged 0 to 4 years,
the second group from 5 to 14, the third group from 15 to 17 and the fourth group
from 18 and older. The presented data showed that the morbidity of children aged 5
to 14 years was higher than in the adult population. In rural areas, the incidence of
lambliasis was 85.3%. Mostly children from 1 to 14 years old suffered from the disease,
they made up 90.3% of the total number of registered patients with lambliasis during
the analyzed period. Lambliasis infected mainly undisciplined children in jamoats
of Surkh, Chorku and Vorukh. The infection rate in preschool institutions was
2.9% (54 cases). Adults made up 0.9% of all patients. The prevention of lambliasis
among children involves observing the personal hygiene rules, timely detection and
treatment of patients, disinfection measures in the foci, and intensified sanitary and
educational work among the population.
