HELMINTHS OF DONKEYS IN KARAKALPAKSTAN

View through CrossRef
The purpose of the presented work is to study the helminths of donkeys in the territory of Karakalpakstan and the level of their infestation. Materials for the study were collected in a number of districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2016–2021. During this period, by complete and incomplete helminthological autopsy according to the method of Academician K. I. Scriabin (1928) examined 31 animals. At the same time, 138 samples of feces were taken from donkeys and their helminthocoprological study was carried out using various methods (the method of Fülleborn, Kalantaryan, Shcherbovich, Darling and the method of successive washings). When determining the species composition of helminths, attention was paid to their morphological features and localization. All examined animals were infested with helminths. It was noted that 49 species of helminths parasitize on donkeys, which belong to 3 classes, 8 genera, 17 families. Studies have shown that helminths found in donkeys combine 43 species of the Nematoda class (87.7%), 4 species of the Cestoda class (8.2%) and 2 species of the Trematoda class (4.1%). Also, helminths that parasitize donkeys are divided into biohelminths and geohelminths according to the cycle of their development. Of the registered helminths, 15 species have been identified as biohelminths and 34 species as geohelminths. These species parasitize in the digestive system (42), respiratory system (2), cardiovascular system (1), abdominal cavity (1), subcutaneous tissue (1) and joints (2) of the host organism.
