The dreamer.

View through Europeana Collections
A divided postcard containing a reproduction of Jacob Stark's painting, "The Dreamer". The painting shows a Yemeni boy, against the backdrop of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem. An ornate frame was added around the painting, which Stark created from a monogram of letters that intermittently includes the words "Zion" and "Jerusalem". This postcard was not used and has no date score on it. Apparently, it was produced in Stark's life (1881-1916), before World War I. On the back of the postcard was the trademark of the postcard manufacturer Kitophot and the artistic publication of the Kunstdruck Verlag des Jüdischen Nationalfonds in Cologne, Germany. Alongside the trademark of an existing foundation, her slogan was printed in German.
