Artykuł omawia wpływ wzajemnego oddziaływania narracyjności i logiki bazy danych na zaangażowanie widza w odbiór interaktywnego filmu cyfrowego na przykładzie trzech niedawno wydanych dzieł z pogranicza filmu i gry komputerowej: Late shift, Bandersnatch i Her story. Odwołując się do koncepcji narracyjności interaktywnej takich badaczy jak Marie-Laure Ryan czy Hartmut Koenitz, autor dowodzi, że cyfrowe filmy interaktywne mogą być rozumiane jako bazy danych zawierające niejednokrotniewzajemnie wykluczające się segmenty narracyjne, które stają się budulcem historii (współ)tworzonej przez widzagracza w akcie odbioru.
