Red Stone Sumerian Amulet of a Boar
View through Harvard Museums
Red stone amulet in the shape of a boar. Carefully carved with contours of muscles indicated. Shallow circular depression for eye on both sides of the head; second depression (also on both sides) may indicate ear. Mouth, nose/tusks(?) are indicated by incised features. Circular hole pierces just above the centre of the amulet probably for cord to pass through so that amulet might be worn.
