Fashion photography Hommel and Klatt, Model (1)

View through Europeana Collections
Black and white photography, outside photography, presentation, 1958 Full figure standing, front view - a young woman presents herself in costume, with cap and umbrella. She stands diagonally, from left to right, while looking head-on into the camera. She smiles and shows a row of bright teeth. The right arm is angled, it holds it in front of the belly, with the left arm it leans against a narrow long, obliquely placed umbrella. The feet are crosssected, left foot ahead, the top pointing outwards, the right foot behind with the top also outwards. The costume of the model is made of bright cloth. The jacket is closed with three buttons and extends over the waist. At their height, for example, there is a straight bag with flap on the left and right, with a button. There is a small white silk cloth around the neck. The skirt is narrow down and midi. She wears white cloth gloves and a white little balloon cap. Her black short hair is fringed and looks out under the cap. Black striking eyebrows, the eyes are made up. Silk stockings and white pumps with a penny heel complete the ensemble. The model stands on the heel of a large outside staircase with railing. The soil beneath it is covered with large stone ashlars. In the background there is a flat elongated building on the left, in between covered lawns. In the middle of it, a masonry chimney stands out. At the right edge of the picture is a woman with a headscarf and holds a large mirror obliquely towards the model. It seems windy and cool. Note: The company Hommel and Klatt is listed in the West Berlin business register of 1958 under the address Charlottenstraße 18, Berlin SW 68. Ch. K.
