Száz évvel ezelőtt, 1922. október 7-én született a hospice-mozgalom és tanatológia magyar úttörője, dr. Polcz Alaine. Magyar pszichológus, író, Mészöly Miklós Kossuth-díjas magyar író felesége. A centenáriumi év apropóján bemutatjuk Alaine munkásságát, valamint szakemberek osztják meg a vele kapcsolatos személyes és szakmai gondolataikat. 1991-ben Alaine létrehozta a Magyar Hospice Alapítványt. Ekkor kezdett kibontakozni a hospice-mozgalom, amelynek célja nemcsak a betegeknek, hanem az őket gondozó családtagoknak is segítséget nyújtani a betegség és a gyász időszakában. Írói öröksége, bölcs meglátásai máig sokak számára kihatottak, velünk vannak.
